Spending cold winter days and nights with my family is wonderful. Take the ornaments or crafts you made and enjoy a night of putting them on the tree together. But even more wonderful is the time my wife and I spend during this time. Enjoy a three, four, or five-course meal at different restaurants around the city. Go to a holiday play, musical, or a show on ice to fit the winter season. If you have kids, this may turn into a family affair, but save something for after the kids go to sleep. Get dressed up or put on an ugly Christmas sweater and head out to a party. So, whether people are into “Cuffing Season,” want to want a non-cuff despite the arctic temperatures and wind chills, I think we can agree on one thing — they want someone to keep them warm, so to speak (and perhaps go ice skating or have a snowball fight with, too).Apparently, when the snow comes, aside from stocking up on non-perishable food items, Hinge users will be stocking up on dates, too...
Yes, you know the ones who suddenly come out of hiding and spontaneously suggest a catch-up?
Meteorologists say that winter storm Jonas is going to hit New York on Friday, Jan.
22, but East Coasters won’t just be affected by snow — they’ll also be hit by a surge in online dating during Winter Storm Jonas …at least, if you use Hinge.
Yes, apparently when the weather’s cold and you’re too cheap to crank up the heating to a comfortable degree, it’s much easier to cosy up to someone on the sofa who will then be your big spoon in bed. But it can be an even more confusing time to date than ever because ‘cuffers’ (those doing the cuffing) come across as completely legit. It’s cold, it’s wet, it’s windy and all we want to do is Netflix and chill.
They’ll hold your hand across the dinner table while gazing lovingly into your eyes. There really isn’t a better time to be in a relationship and people’s dating habits reflect that because, to put it bluntly, it’s a lot easier and more convenient to invest in dating during this time. Just because someone is more likely to look for a partner during the colder months, that doesn’t mean that they just want you for that time period (which is from November to March, just FYI, though if you want a head start in finding your cuffing partner, the pre-season search begins in September.) Your new-found love could still outlast the season.
Today is officially the first day of winter which means that fall, my personal favorite season for dating, is over.
